A space to make sense of your inner experience.

Trauma-informed, neuro-affirming psychotherapy in Inner Melbourne for people who think and feel deeply.

A slow breath while you’re here.

Hello, World!

What’s in the way, is the way.

Talk therapy can activate our rational mind, however, it is often through going deeper that true healing can occur. Our body is highly intuitive, and stores more information than we are conscious of. At The Felt Sense, your body’s intrinsic knowledge is considered just as valuable as what you can intellectualise. It is here that we can trace the threads back through your life timeline to explore your holistic experience of what is both known and felt. Whilst context always matters, so does the nervous system underneath it.

Welcome

The Felt Sense is an independent counselling and psychotherapy practice in Melbourne grounded in trauma-informed, neuroaffirming care. It is a space in which your experiences are met with curiosity and compassion, and you are seen as the expert in your own life.

I'm Lauren, an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker. As an AuDHDer myself, my lived experience informs the way I practice. I understand the vulnerability in starting therapy with a new clinician, and deeply respect the need to feel safe and not judged. That is why at The Felt Sense there is no expectation to mask. You are welcome exactly as you are.

I recognise the inherent privilege that comes with being entrusted with my clients stories, and honour the strength and bravery it takes to open up. Whether someone is living with the impact of trauma, navigating intense emotions, or feeling chronically exhausted from a lifetime of misunderstanding and judgement, I aim to offer a safe place to meet you where you’re at. By slowing down, and allowing yourself time to arrive, we can make sense of your experiences, and ultimately allow you to reconnect with your authentic sense of self.

At The Felt Sense, all emotions are valid.
