Neuroaffirming AuDHD support in Melbourne
Space to safely unmask.
You don’t need a diagnosis to belong here.
Formal diagnoses can be costly, and there are various social and financial barriers that directly impact people’s capacity to undergo an assessment. Regardless of if you have an official diagnosis, are newly or late diagnosed, or find yourself resonating with neurodivergent experiences, you are welcome here. The Felt Sense is neuroaffirming, and celebrates difference rather than viewing it as a deficit to be fixed. Together we can explore your unique strengths, balancing self-acceptance with practical strategies for navigating daily challenges. The aim is to allow you to safely unmask.
Support that sees the inherent strength in neurodivergence.
Identity, Belonging & Late-Diagnosed AuDHD
The lens we view ourselves through is often shaped by the narratives we have heard about ourselves from others, society and the media. As neurodivergent individuals, we might continuously hear that we are "too sensitive," "too much," or "not trying hard enough." Shame-based identities can surface in environments where our neurodivergent, gendered, cultural or other diverse identities are not understood or respected. This can lead to a sense of a fragmented identity and feelings of social isolation and misunderstanding, making it difficult to feel a sense of authentic belonging and acceptance in the world.
The Felt Sense supports adolescents and adults navigating neurodivergence, gender, sexuality, culture or life transitions. The Felt Sense prioritises a strong intersectionality focus, and aims to guide you as you redefine your narrative, unlearn internalised shame, and make space for strength-based, neurodivergent-affirming identities.

Neuroaffirming therapy stems from the belief that neurodivergence, including Autism, ADHD and AuDHD, is not a deficit to be corrected. Rather than aiming to make you appear more "typical," neuroaffirming support focuses on understanding your nervous system, honouring your communication style, and building on the strengths you've developed, often through years of adapting to environments that weren't designed with your needs in mind. The very core of neuroaffirming therapy aims to provide unconditional positive regard for neurodivergent experiences,

The Felt Sense works outside the traditional medical model of mental health, so formal diagnoses or ADHD/Autism assessments are not available. Instead, the focus is on understanding how a person's environment and lived experience may have shaped their patterns, without needing to attach a clinical label. If you're seeking a diagnosis or formal psychometric assessment alongside psychotherapy, The Felt Sense can refer you to a trusted network of psychologists in Melbourne who specialise in ADHD and Autism assessment.
